Assam tet 2019: Assam TET is popularly known to be The Assam Teacher Eligibility Test. The Department of School Education conducts this test. Assam TET Exam decides for the recruitment of teachers in the private and government schools of Assam. The candidates who are looking for the job of a teacher in private or government schools of Assam, they have to give this exam. The candidates appearing for this exam should fulfil all the eligibility criteria for the vacancies of teachers.

After the gap of seven years, Assam TET Exam 2019 is going to be conducted. Candidates should pass this exam to get opt for teachers for the lower or upper primary classes in the Assam schools. Classes from first to five come under lower primary category and classes from 6th to 8th come under the upper primary category. The body responsible for conducting TET Exam 2019 is The RMSA, i.e., The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhijan. Recently, The RMSA has announced for conducting the Assam TET Exam in September 2019. The exam is going to be conducted after a long time of seven years. The authority has also announced the tentative dates of all events. Interested Candidates must check all the essential dates who are applying for the teachers’ vacancies in the private and government schools of Assam. These important dates will let them update with all the information, and they will also not miss the deadline of the exam. Here is the list of important dates of Assam TET Exam 2019;

Eligibility Criteria: Assam TET Exam 2019

Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhijan has released the set of eligibility criteria that the candidates should fulfil to sit in the Assam TET Exam 2019. Candidates those do not satisfy the eligibility criteria will not be considered for the recruitment. The eligibility criteria of Assam TET Exam 2019 for the lower and upper primary level are given below:


Eligibility criteria for the Lower primary level:


  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary
    Education (by whatever name is known)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary
    Education (B.El.Ed)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education
    (Special Education)
    OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)obtained from any recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.

b) A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the
RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February 2011, may also
apply for TET. However, he can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required
qualification.

Eligibility criteria for the upper primary level:


  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B. Ed)
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary
    Education (B. El. Ed).
    OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A.
    Ed/B. Sc. Ed.
    OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed. (Special Education).

Relaxation: Following relaxation will be applicable

  • Relaxation up to 5 % in the academic marks in HSSLC or Graduation shall be applicable for
    candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH) to appear in TET (The degree of
    handicap in case of PH candidates should be minimum 40% and to be certified by the competent
    authority) both for Paper-I (LP Level) and Paper-II (UP Level).
  • For Paper-I (LP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in HSSLC marks shall be applicable for candidates
    who were admitted in 2-Year D.El.Ed. before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No. F.51-
    1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and qualified 2-Year D.El.Ed. subsequently.
  •  For Paper-II (UP Level) relaxation up to 5 % in Graduation marks shall be applicable for
    candidates who were admitted in 1-Year B.Ed. before 31/08/2009 as per NCTE Notification No.
    F.51-1/2009-NCTE (N&S) dated 31st August 2009 and qualified 1-Year B.Ed. subsequently

Age Limit: (Assam TET Exam 2019)

  • Candidates’ Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Candidates’ Maximum age: 44 years.

Examination Pattern: Assam TET Exam 2019

The Assam TET Exam 2019 is going to be conducted through pen and paper method. This exam will be offline. There will be conducted two papers, i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for the candidates who are going to apply for the lower primary classes from first to fifth. Paper 2 is for the candidates who are going to apply for the upper primary classes from 6th to 8th. The candidates those want to apply for class first to 8th, they have to give both papers. The multiple-choice questions will come in both the papers. The entire paper will be objective type. More details for the examination with the pattern are given below;

Paper 1:

  • Duration: 1/2 hours
  • Questions type: Multiple choice questions
  • Total marks: 150 marks
  • Number of questions: 150
  • Medium: Hindi, English, Bengali, Bodo, Assamese
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark for the correct answer and there is no negative marking

Paper 2:

  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Questions type: Multiple choice questions
  • Total marks: 200 marks
  • of questions: 200
  • Medium: Hindi, English, Bengali, Bodo, Assamese
  • Marking scheme: 1 mark for the correct answer and there is no negative marking

  • General Category: Rs 325/-
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH): Rs 300/-

Paper-II:

  • General Category: Rs 325/-
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC/PWD(PH): Rs 300/-

The applicants need to pay the application fee online through net banking, credit/ Debit card.


How to apply: (The Assam TET Exam of 2019?)


The candidates need to follow the following steps to apply for this examination.

  • Log-in through the web site https://ssa.assam.gov.in or https://sebaonline.org
  • Download Instruction Manual.
  • Read carefully the Instruction Manual on how to submit the online application form.
  • Submit Online Application and upload Passport size Photo and Signature of recommended size
    (as mentioned in Instruction Manual).
  • The candidate has to pay the fee through online banking/credit card/ debit card etc. he/she can
    take a print out of the Online Application form.

Exam Syllabus: TET Exam 2019  (SUBJECT)

As this exam is going to be conducted after a long time of seven years, so the syllabus of Assam TET Exam 2019 has got revised. There will be four basic categories of subjects in the exam. These four basic subjects are General studies, Current affairs, Pedagogy, and General English. There will be four sections, and one section for one subject will be there in the exam. From each subject, the specific number of questions will be asked, so candidates must prepare for all these four subjects. The detailed syllabus for the exam is given below;
